FTHB workshop attendees received additional information regarding:

  • The $60,000 FTHB subsidy made available through the City; and up to an additional $32,000 in funding sources eligible households may have access to.
  • How to prepare themself to purchase a home and take advantage of the FTHB and partnering subsidies.
  • First time homebuyer education and Counseling resources, opportunities, and requirements.
  • FTHB requirements and restrictions, including and not limited to: first time homebuyer status requirements, maximum household income allowances, credit scores and down payment requirements, maximum housing cost allowances, maximum subsidy allowances, and program participant preferences
  • Steps and projected timeline for FTHB participants to secure funding from the City and other subsidy sources. Points discussed will include:
    • How to secure required FTHB HUD approved homebuyer education and counseling
    • The FTHB application process
    • Working with a 1st lender to get a 1st mortgage pre-approval
    • FTHB program pre-approval and final program approval process
    • Finding a home and securing Final Approval and funding to purchase your Program​Approved Concord Home

The City of Concord and the Bay Area Affordable Homeownership Alliance (BAAHA) presented an informational workshop that introduces the City’s newly launched First Time Homebuyer (FTHB) Program.

The free workshop explained how eligible FTHB participants may be able to secure up to $60,000 in subsidy from the City of Concord. Qualified first time homebuyers may also access up to $32,000 in additional grants and subsidies through BAAHA’s public-private partnerships.


There is limited FTHB funding and subsidies to be disbursed on a first come first served basis.
