The Objectives of AHOP

BAAHA retains the goal to make information about AHOP accessible always. If you had a chance to meet BAAHA and the City of Antioch at the past Employer & Civic Organization Informational Forum on March 5th, 2018, we appreciate your support and involvement! BAAHA is contracted with the City of Antioch in a new program that can provide Antioch employees an excellent opportunity to become homeowners in Antioch. The Antioch Home Ownership Program, or AHOP, provides the following key resources and services:

  • Expanding home purchase opportunities by providing up to $45,000 in down payment assistance subsidies for eligible Antioch workforce

  • Providing Antioch employees access to:

    • Free homebuyer education

    • Free one-on-one homebuyer counseling for eligible employees

• Help Antioch workforce and residents to secure homeownership in the City of Antioch

Expand overall homeownership in the City of Antioch – efforts are also directed towards working with existing homeowner investors and realtors to promote accessibility for AHOP participants to compete in the homebuyer marketplace

• Provide resources and services that increase the level of financial literacy (especially as it pertains to purchasing and owning a home) for Antioch workforce and residents.


There have been a number of studies proving that individuals or families who own homes are significantly more productive, stable, and content employees. Employers posses one of the master keys for your employees to secure homeownership and to unlock and promote the success of AHOP. Your support in
circulating AHOP information to your employees allows the City of Antioch and BAAHA to:

  1. Efficiently interact with a number of individuals and households that may have an opportunity to take advantage of AHOP; and
  2. Further promote stability and productivity in your workplace and community.

The City of Antioch has contracted with the Bay Area Affordable Homeownership Alliance (BAAHA), a 501(c)3 organization, to administer AHOP. BAAHA is working with the City of Antioch and a number of partners, including and not limited to: Fannie Mae, the Federal Home Loan Bank, Golden State Finance Authority, Delta Association of Realtors, BALANCE, Guild Mortgage, and other real estate lenders and professionals.
