22704 Atherton Street is part of the city of Hayward's inclussionary housing Below Market Rate (BMR) program. BMR's are deed restricted units or homes that are part of a program that preserves affordable purchase opportunities for low to moderate income households in the region.
This unit requires a BMR Purchase Application that must be submitted directly to BAAHA. Applications are reviewed by BAAHA to determine eligibility to participate in the lottery for the BMR home. To be eligible for the lottery, households must be within the parameters of various eligibility guidelines (click here to view guidelines and submission instructions). In addition to eligibility parameters, there are some preferences given to households that may include, for example, living and/or working in the city of Hayward. These points have not yet been assigned, but BAAHA actively notifies applicants of any program updates or changes.
Households must meet certain requirements to be able to participate in lottery to purchase the above mentioned BMR unit. Higher lottery preferences will be assigned to households who:
Households must meet or be below the 2019 120% Area Median Income (AMI) limits for Alameda County. In addition, there is a preferred* household size range of two (2) to five (5) people. Below is a chart to show the maximum income (120% AMI) that a household can make per year to qualify for this BMR home. Income reflects the gross annual income of the current year. *The household size is not a requirement, only a preference.
A completed BMR Purchase Application must be submitted directly to BAAHA before the application deadline. Applications are reviewed by BAAHA to determine program eligibility for lottery participation. Applications must be completed thoroughly and submitted before the application deadline stated below. Application is due by no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
A closed lottery will be conducted by BAAHA on Friday, September 13, 2019.
